Obituary
Alberto P. Bement Funeral services for Alberto P. Bement were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Universalist church, the Rev. G. C. Reardon officiating. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Robert Mayhew of Greenville. Masonic services were also conducted by the officers of Penobscot Lodge, F. and A. M. Interment was made in the family lot in Elmwood cemetery, with a Masonic commital service. The funeral was in charge of O. C. Harvey of Greenville. Mr. Bement was born in Dexter eighty-four years ago and has always lived in this town until about five years ago when he went to Greenville to make his home with his younger son, Walter Bement and family. He passed away there Thursday after a long period of failing health. Prayers were said at the home before the body was brought to Dexter Sunday. Always an active member of the Masonic lodges he never failed to attend the meetings and to render assistance in the work of the order as long as his health permitted it. He was a past master of Penobscot lodge, No. 39, of which he had been a member more than 58 years, and was a past high priest of St. John's Chapter, No. 25, R. A. M. Surviving are two sons, Walter A. of Greenville and G. Stanley Bement of Dexter; a grandson, James A. Bement of Greenville; three nieces, Mrs. Alma Graham of West Buxton, Mrs. Blanche Niessing of Long Island City, N. Y., and Mrs. Grace Connors of Ware, Mass.; and three nephews, Warren Moses of Waterville, Walter Moses of Portland and Walter Engalls of Ware, Mass.
