Obituary
Funeral of Mrs. H. M. Gates Funeral services for Mrs. Herbert M. Gates were held at St. Anne's Catholic church Saturday morning, the Rev. C. J. Enright officiating. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery and the bearers were Joseph Kanaly, William J. Coughlin, Nathan Daggett and Omar Carr. The many beautiful flowers sent were silent testimony of the affection of many friends. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gates left two sons, Herbert of Beddington, Vermont and Lieut. Com. Bernard Gates, who is with the Pacific fleet; four sisters, Mrs. Dennis Hayes, East Brookfield, Mass., Mrs. William B. Clements, Kalamazoo, Mich., Miss Katherine Chisholm and Mrs. Charles L. Ryan, of Dexter; two brothers, George J. Chisholm, of Wellesley, Mass. and Herbert J. Chisholm of Millnocket. Among those from out of town attending the funeral services were Herbert Gates, Mrs. Jennie Hayes, Mr. and Mrs. George Chisholm, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chisholm, also Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Clay and Mrs. Addie Gates of Millinocket, and Mr. and Mrs. Renell Reynolds or Unity.
