Obituary
WILL AUSTIN FOUND DEAD IN WOOD LOT The many friends of Will D. Austin of this town were shocked today to learn of his death which occurred while he was cutting wood on the east shore of Lake Wassookeag, probably on Tuesday, as he had not been seen by the neighbors since that time. His body was discovered this morning by Frank Cleaves who had gone into the same lot to cut firewood. Mr. Cleaves immediately notified the authorities and Dr. H. L. Taylor, medical examiner, investigated. As Dr. Taylor could not be contacted before the paper went to press no official report as to the cause of death can be given. Mr. Austin, who was 87 years old, was highly respected and for more than 58 years was a member of the Masonic lodge in which he was deeply interested. He leaves a brother, Bird Austin of Peak's Island, three nieces, Mrs. James Ordway of Sangerville, Mrs. Lottie Thomas of Monson, Mrs. Leola Day of Bangor; and four nephews, Dana Austin of Gardiner, Glen Austin of Sangerville, Milan Austin of Bingham and Dennis Weeks of Monson. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
