Obituary
Parker S. Mower Funeral services for Parker S. Mower, a prominent and highly respected resident of this town, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home on the North Dexter road, the Rev. Ondon P. Stairs, of Gordon College, Boston, officiating. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery and the bearers were Ernest Harrington, James Boynton, Arthur Inman, and Albert McKusick. Mr. Mower died at his home Sunday evening following a long illness. He was born 87 years ago, in the house in which he died, the son of the late Deacon Aaron Fletcher Mower and Ann Parker Mower. He has always been engaged in agriculture and was well known as a prosperous farmer. Mr. Mower was a member of the First Baptist church and of the Dexter Grange. He was the last of the family of five children and he leaves his wife, Mrs. Clara M. Mower; a son, Linwood P. of Dexter; two grandchildren, Donald Mower of Newport, R. I., and Mrs. Althea Gould of Dexter; two great grandchildren, Helen Althea Mower, of Newport, R. I., and Paul Gould of Dexter also two nephews, Clyde and Kenneth Mower of Dexter. Those from out of town attending the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mower, of Newport, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. France, Kenduskeag, and Fred Gilbert of Bangor.
