Mrs. James Herman Grant Funeral services for Mrs. Helen B. Grant, 66, wife of James H. Grant, Railroad avenue, were held from the Methodist Episcopal church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. F. Ernest Smith of Rockport, a former pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. Frederick Niles. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends and beautiful floral tributes were in profusion. Commital services were at the grave in Mt. Pleasant cemetery and the bearers were Fred M. Jewett, A. Q. Thompson, R. E. Cinq-Mars, Keith Wentworth, Marshall Phinney and Frank Brown. Mrs. Grant passed away Friday morning at the Plummer Memorial hospital after a several weeks' illness. She was born in Castine, July 8, 1876, the daughter of Capt. and Mrs. R. H. Mills. For the past twenty-seven years she has made her home in Dexter where she leaves many friends. She was a member of Martha Washington Rebekah lodge and of the Methodist church. Surviving are her husband; one son, Edwin H. Grant of Biddeford; and several nieces and nephews. Out of town friends and relatives at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Colson of Guilford, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hebberd of Dover-Foxcroft, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Turner of Verona, Warren Clement of Bucksport, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown and family from Kenduskeag, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grant of Sangerville, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grant and son, Edwin of Sabattus, Mr. and Mrs. Lamson Bowden, of Rumford, Miss Lydia Rhoda, Fred Rhoda and family of Milo, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Grant of Sangerville, Mrs. Gertrude Fayle of Portland, Carroll Bean of Kenduskeag, and Rev. and Mrs. F. Ernest Smith of Rockport.
