Obituary	ROSE E. CRAWFORD DEXTER - Rose E. Crawford, 89, formerly of Dexter, died Thursday May 23, 2002 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law John and Gloria Stuart in Topsham where she has resided for several years. She was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Lansdale, Penn., daughter of Lewis and Ella McGlaufin. She attended Corinna schools and eventually moved to Dexter where she lived for many years. She worked many years at home as a seamstress making everything from cheerleader uniforms to wedding gowns for many Dexter friends. She also worked as a medical receptionist and assistant for Dr. Hans Shurman in Dexter. She was an avid reader, loved to knit and crochet and enjoyed her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and the United Baptist Church in Topsham. She was predeceased by her husband, Leverett Hartley Sr. of Corinna in 1941 and her husband of 50 years Carl S. Crawford of Dexter in 1991; son Leverett Hartley Jr. in 1987; grandson Rusty Hartley in 2002 and two sisters, Edna Bowden and Lucille Bednarzyck. She is survived by two sons, Richard Hartley, and wife June of W. Springfield, Mass., James A. Crawford and his wife Rita of Glenburn, a daughter Gloria Stuart and husband John of Topsham, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson, sister Cecelia Hall of Tennessee, brother George McGlauflin of Bangor, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held June 2 at 2 p.m. at United Baptist Church in Topsham, officiated by Pastor Ron McLaughlin. Funeral arrangements are by Stetson Funeral Home, Brunswick.
