Obituary
Lionel Lincoln Lionel Lincoln, 83, died Monday noon after a long period of failing health. He was born in Corinna, March 19, 1859, the son of Lionel and Susan G. Lincoln. On January 1, 1884 he was united in marriage with Eliza Sawyer of Atkinson, who passed away in 1922. A few years later he married Lucia Wheeler of Etna. She died in 1936. With the exception of a few years in Minnesota, Mr. Lincoln spent the greater part of his lifetime in Garland where he was a wellknown and highly respected farmer. Since February 2 29, 1940 he has made his home with his son, Earle Lincoln and family in Dexter. Surviving are three sons, Earle of Dexter, George of Dover, N. H., and Lionel of Pinehurst, Mass.; four grandchildren, Marilyn and Dorothy Lincoln of Dexter, Osborn, who is in the U. S. Army and Raymond of Pinehurst. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Garland church, the Rev. Gordon C. Reardon of the Dexter Universalist church officiating. There was a large attendance of old friends, neighbors, and relatives, and there were many beautiful flowers. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery in Garland. The bearers were Emery Adams, Omar Grover, Herman Hill and Charles Batchelder. Among those from out-of-town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Gilman of Newport, Mrs. Annie Crowell, Harry Lincoln of Corinna, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Sawyer, Shepard Sawyer, Mrs. Mildred Pillsbury of Dover-Foxcroft, Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Lincoln of Pinehurst, Mass. and George Lincoln of Dover, N. H., also friends and relatives from Dexter.
