Obituary	Mrs. Essie Beede Shattuck, 80, widow of John L. Shattuck, died early Friday morning, May 9th, at her home on High Street following a long period of ill health. She was born in Levant, Jan. 18, 1867, the daughter of James Henry Ames and Sarah (Beede) Ames. Mrs. Shattuck spent the greater part of her life in Dexter. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Richards and Mrs. Alice Thurlow, both of Corinna; a stepdaughter, Miss Leta M. Shattuck of Dexter; four grandchildren, Marjorie Flewelling, Othnell Thurlow, both of Dexter; Herbert Richards, Corinna; Essie Thurlow, Hartford, Conn.; two great-grandchildren, Mildred Flewelling and William Thurlow. Funeral services were held from the home at three o'clock Sunday afternoon. Beuberta Byam of Waterville, a spiritualist lecturer, officiated. Thc bearers were Herbert Richards, Henry Thurlow, both of Corinna; Othnell Thurlow and Forrest Flewelling of Dexter.
