Obituary	GERALDINE C. TAYLOR DEXTER - Geraldine C. Taylor, 91, a resident of Dexter, passed away February 18, 2002 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital, following a brief illness. She was born in Bradford, December 24, 1910, daughter of Spencer H. and Inez Perkins Colbath. Gerry, as she was affectionately called, graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston, and from Colby College in Waterville, class of 1933, with a degree in English Literature. She spent the following summer studying for her Masters Degree in London, England. Prior to her marriage to Dr. H. Lewis Taylor, she taught English at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, and also at Orono High School, in Orono. She was married to Dr. Taylor in December 1938 and made her home in Dexter where she was a member and Past President of the Dexter Women's Literary Club. She was an avid bridge player and loved her flower gardens. She was also a great devotee of the Classics and Fine Arts. She was predeceased by her husband in April 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Taylor Paine and her husband, Jesse of Dexter and her beloved grandson, Daniel R. Slater and his wife Karen of Manchester, N.H. A Memorial service was held February 22, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter, with Rev. Lois Merrifield officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
