Guy F. Westgate Funeral services for Guy F. Westgate were held Sunday afternoon 2 o'clock at the First Baptist church, the Rev. Ondon Stairs, pastor of the church officiating. Odd Fellows services were also conducted. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers and a very large attendance of relatives, friends and fellow workmen. Members of Plymouth lodge, I. O. O. F. and Martha Washington Rebekah lodge attended in a body and was a large representation from the Fay and Scott machine shop, with which be had been associated about twenty-five years, from the N. Y. A. Center, where he was shop supervisor, and from the various Odd Fellow lodges in the District of which he was District Deputy Grand Master at the time of his death. The body was placed in the tomb to await burial at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the spring. The bearers were brother Odd Fellows, Clarence N. Pierce, Earl Z. Crowell, George F. Huff Harry Wilkins, Everett Bennett, and Paul Higgins. Mr. Westgate died Friday morning in a Boston hospital several days following an operation. He was born in Cohasset, Mass. fifty-seven years ago, the son of Frank and Katherine Higgins Westgate, and since a young man, has made his home in Dexter where he was held in high regard, and for many years was prominent in all branches of Odd Fellowship. He was a valued member of the Dexter police force several years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith Westgate; his father, who made his home with his son; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Sawtelle and Mrs. Edith Eaton, one son, Harry Westgate of Dexter; a brother, C. I. Westgate of Abington, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth West and Mrs. Louise McKusick of Derby, also several grandchildren.
