ROBERT M. FORTIER DEXTER - Robert M. Fortier, 86, loving husband of Constance (Morse) Fortier for over sixty two years, died October 23, 2002 in Dover-Foxcroft at Hibbards Nursing Home. He was born December 20, 1915 in Freedom, the son of Frank and Ethel (Carsley) Fortier. He graduated from St. Petersburg Florida High School and then attended Northeastern Business College in Portland. He served many years in the C.C.C. and was a Navy veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a field man for American Hardware Mutual Insurance Co. in Central and Northern Maine. After retirement he founded Bob's Tackle Company. He designed many fishing lures and also represented several metal detector companies. He was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church having served many years as Treasurer of the Trustees. He was a member of the Penobscot Masonic Lodge #39 A.M. & A.E of Dexter. He is survived by his wife Constance (Morse) Fortier, two daughters Sally Lawson and her husband John of Dexter, Sandra Padham of Dexter, five grandchildren, Stephen Lawson and Heidi of Dexter, Lorraine Inserra and William of CA, Cindy Lawson of Bangor, Chris Padham and Lisa of Dexter, Jamie Padham of Dexter, four great grandchildren, Bill and Amanda Inserra, and Wendy and Kara Lawson. A special friend Albert Sands of Dover-Foxcroft whom he greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially "metel detecting" with, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Francis "Tat" Fortier. A Memorial Service was held October 27, at the Dexter United Methodist Church with pastor Lois Field officiating.
