Obituary	IRENE PHILPOT KING GREENSBORO, NC - Our mother, Irene Philpot King, died peacefully October 15, 2002 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was born on December 18, 1925 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, the daughter of Frank and Doris (Pratt) Philpot. Irene was educated in Dover-Foxcroft Schools. She married the love of her life, Johnny King on June 7, 1943 and they were married for fifty-five wonderful years. Irene was devoted and loving to her seven children. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and teaching Sunday School as well as babysitting for countless children over the years. She and her husband Johnny worked tirelessly on their farm, King's Royal Acres. Their hard work resulted in awards spanning for more than 20 years; including Tree Farmer of the Year for the State of Maine and Co-operators of the Year in Piscataquis County. Irene was a member of the Church of the Nazarene family and will be dearly missed. Irene is survived by her children Kitty Wells and husband Dick of NC, Nancy Setzer and husband Bob of NC, John King III and wife Pat of AL, Tim King and his wife Ann of NY, Robyn Keyte and her husband Michael of Dexter, Scott King and his wife Shawn of VA, Randy King of NY, also 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her brother Vaughn Philpot and his wife Ethel of WA, and her aunt Muriel Watson of FL. Irene was predeceased by her baby brother David and her daughter Gail, her uncle Louis Philpot and her husband Johnny. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Church of the Nazarene, Dexter Road, Dover-Foxcroft from 12 to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2002. A celebration of her life will follow with the Rev. David McLeish officiating. Interment will follow at Dover Cemetery on River Rd., Dover-Foxcroft. All are welcome.
