Obituary	BARBARA G. HOWARD DOVER-FOXCROFT - Barbara Greenleaf Howard, 83, died June 2, 2002, after a five month stay at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born February 18, 1919, in Abbot, the daughter of Archie and Bessie (Spinney) Greenleaf. After graduating from Monson Academy, she marries George E. Howard II in 1938 and moved to Dover-Foxcroft. A former member and past president of the Junior Cosmopolitan Club, she was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, the Mayo Regional Auxiliary, and served many years as a volunteer at Mayo Regional Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards of all kinds, knitting dishcloths for family members, and for many years resided at the family camp at Sebec Lake. She is survived by a daughter, Georganne Dow and her husband Malcolm of Dextrer; 2 sons, Stephen and his wife Linda of Dover-Foxcroft, Jeffrey E. of Kirkland, WA; 7 Grandchildren, Roy H. Dow of Waterville, Timothy Dow of Dexter, Susanne Dow Bowden and her husband Steve of York, Kimber Howard Hoyt and her Husband Jason of Brewer, Kelly, Lainey and George R. Howard, all of Kirkland, WA; 3 great grandchildren, Eimile and Izaak Bowden of York, and Ayla of Brewer; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Nelson of Monson; 2 sisters-in-law, Dag Greenleaf of Monson, Norma Greenleaf of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a cousin, Martha Ayer of Orrington. She will be missed by 3 very special friends, Ethel Hersey, and Bea Gellerson, both of Dover-Foxcroft, and Mrs. Dot Thomas of Bangor. She was predeceased by her husband George (1971), a sister, Corrine Johnson, and 2 brothers, Robert Greenleaf and James Greenleaf. A memorial service will be conducted 3pm Sunday June 9, 2002, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with Rev. Kenneth Dale officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mayo Regional Hospital, 65 W Main St., Dover-Foxcroft 04426.
