Obituary
George Amazeen Funeral services for George Amazeen were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Amazeen, High street. The Rev. Sterling Stackhouse of the First Baptist church in Dover-Foxcroft officiated and the bearers were four brothers-in-law, Orman Dow, Clinton Gibson, Ralph Moore and Eugene Frost. The body was placed in the receiving tomb to await burial at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Among those from out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jaquith of Spring Green, R. I., Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lurvey of Hull's Cove, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Amazeen of Melrose, Mass., Charles Merrill, Horace Briggs Mrs. Don Moens, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moore and Mr. and Mrs. George Hall of Dover-Foxcroft. Mr. Amazeen died in Spring Green, R. I. where he had been visiting his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jaquith, during the winter, and had been confined to his bed by illness for six weeks. He was born in Sangerville seventy-two years ago, the son of Helen and John Amazeen. In 1892 he was united in marriage with Helen M. Currier, who passed away in 1919. For a number of years he owned and operated a small machine and woodworking shop in Dover-Foxcroft which he recently sold because of poor health. Survviing are two daughters, Mrs. Delia Lurvey, Mrs. Marion Jaquith; two sons, Martin and Earl Amazeen; four sisters, Mrs. Clinton Gibson, Miss Sadie Amazeen, Mrs. Blanche Dow and Mrs. Ralph Moore, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
