Obituary
James M. Boynton Funeral services for James M. Boynton, 58, were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist ihurch, the Rev. J. K. Halliday officiating. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends and floral tributes were in profusion. Interment was in Ferndale cemetery in Ripley, and the bearers were Charles E. Stone, Linwood Mower, George Lewis, Perley Pynes, of Dexter, Philip T. Additon and Harland Wilkins of Ripley. Mr. Boynton died at his home on Free street Sunday morning at 7 o'clock. His death came as a great shock to his family and friends as he had been in his usual heath and the night before had played at a dance in Newport. Feeling ill when awaking Sunday morning at his cottage on Lake Wassookeag, he decided to come to his home in town. He drove down, accompanied by Mrs. Boynton, but died within a short time from acute Angina. He was born in Ripley October 11, 1884, the son of Charles and Sarah Rand Boynton and always made his home in that town until about twenty- five years ago when he moved to Dexter. On August 23, 1905 he was united in marriage with Edith Stewart, who survives him. He has been well- known as an orchestra leader and for a number of years was an automobile salesman. He was a member of Dexter Grange, P. of H. Besides his wife, he is survived by several cousins. Among those from out of town attending the services were Dr. and Mrs. George Rand, Mr. and Mrs. George Rand, Jr., Miss Elizabeth Rand, Mrs. Annabelle Ramsdell of Livermore Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Perrin, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gellerson of Dover-Foxcroft; Orel Cole, St. Albans; I. B. Frost, Boston; Mrs. Hugh Tribou, Mrs. Lloyd Shields, Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bullard of Waterville and many friends from his native town of Ripley.
