Obituary	SHIRLEY STUART FICK DEXTER, ME & WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY - Shirley Stuart Fick, 79, of Dexter, formerly of Westhampton Beach, NY died August 2, 1998 at her home. She was born on June 3, 1919 in Bronxville, NY the daughter of Donald O. & Beatrice (Stevens) Stuart. She attended Bronxville, NY schools and was a graduate of Connecticut College for Women and later earned a Masters in Education at the New York State University. She was an elementary school teacher in West Islip and Sayville, NY public schools for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Carl M. Fick, a son Peder C. Fick, a grandson Peder Fick and a sister Mary Devlin. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher "Kip" and Paula Fick of Garland and Jansen and Helene Fick of Mendocino, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Peter Barr of Wellesley, MA; five grandchildren, Paul Fick of Seattle, WA, Ethan Fick and his wife Regina of Garland, Jake Fick of Garland, Janelle Jamie Fick and Carl Fick of Mendocino, CA; three great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Ethan, Jr. and Seth Fick of Garland; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Fick Hawkes of Ellsworth and many nieces and nephews. There were no services held. Donations may be made in her memory to the Peder C. Fick Memorial Fund c/o Superintendent of Schools, PO Box 60, Mt. Desert Island, ME 04660. Arrangements are with Shorey Funeral Chapel, Pittsfield.
