Obituary	ALFREDA F. HAINES DEXTER - Alfreda F. Haines, wife of the late Charles Favor Haines, died Feb. 19, 1999, at a Dexter Health-care facility. She was born Feb. 22, 1908, in Caribou, the daughter of Thomas and Effie (King) Flewelling. Later, the family moved to Skowhegan and then to Silver's Mills. After graduating from N. H. Fay High School, she worked for a brief time as secretary at Bailey Motors, before working for the law offices of Crosby & Crosby, where she was employed until the office closed. She then worked for Webber Oil Co., but continued doing income tax preparation in her home after retirement. For many years, she was a member and secretary of the executive board of Plummer Memorial Hospital, treasurer of the Dexte rPublic Health Association, treasurer of the Universalist Church, trustee of the Sunshine Club, and secretary of the Flewelling Reunion. She is survived by three sisters, Edith McLaughlin of Skowhegan, Glennys Roberts and Opal Ireland, both of Dexter; three brothers, Howard Flewelling of Hermon, Sheldon of Silver's Mills, and Thomas Jr. of Sutherlin, Ore.; 14 nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also predeceased by a brother, Forest. At her request there will be no visiting hours. At a time to be announced, a memorial. service will be held at the First Universalist Church (Unitarian Universalist) with the Rev. Alec Craig officiating. Spring interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
