TROOPER JEFFERY S. PAROLA WINSLOW AND DEXTER - Trooper Jeffrey S. Parola, 27, of the Maine State Police, died late Sunday night, November 13, as the result of a highway accident. A resident of Winslow, he was born in Bangor, ME, October 28, 1967 the son of John Parola and Judith Gilley. He was educated in Dexter, graduating from Dexter High School in 1986. He also attended University of Maine at Farmington and Bangor, then attended Maine Criminal Justice Academy and Maine State Police Training Group, graduating in April 1990. Jeffrey was assigned as a rural trooper in Troop 5 in Machias then recently transferred to Troop C in Skowhegan where he worked the Somerset County area. Jeff joined the State Police Tactical Team in November of 1992, receiving extensive training in this area throughout his career as a trooper. He is survived by his wife Shelley Graham Parole of Winslow; his father and step mother, John and Diane Parola of Dexter; mother and step father, Judith and Paul Raymond of Dover-Foxcroft; two (2) brothers, Todd Parola of Lake Forest, Ill. and Aaron Parole of Dexter; 2 step brothers, Stephen Raymond of Whitefish, Mont. And John Raymond of Washington, D.C.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visiting was held November 16 at the Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. Funeral services were held November 17 at Notre Dame Church, Silver St., Waterville. Burial followed in St. Francis Cem., Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for use to support students pursuing a career in law enforcement, and the Maine State Police Tactical Team. Donations should be made payable to "Jeff Parola Memorial Fund" and sent to Dexter Regional Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 233, Dexter, Maine 04930.
