Obituary	RICHARD JOSEPH REID DEXTER - Richard Joseph Reid, 67, died January 11, 1993, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born February 14, 1925 in Lawrence, MA, son of Daniel and Anna (Scollard) Reid. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA. He served for three years in the Navy during WWII, spending two years in Espiritos Santos, New Hebrides and then on the USS Helena. He worked as a draftsman and pattern maker for Fay Scott and then worked for the US Post Office in Dexter retiring in 1986 as an Asst. Postmaster after 30 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church and served as an Eucharistic Minister. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Dexter Municipal Golf Course. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Dexter Kiwanis Club. He is survived by wife Jane (Woodcock) Reid of Dexter; four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Karen of Lake Zurich, IL, Frank and Cynthia of Scarborough, Timothy and Gail of Hermon and John of Auburn; a sister cousin Evelyn Reid Martineau of Andover, MA and many cousins with whom he was very close; four grandchildren, Lori Reid, Trisha Reid, Michael Reid and Matthew Garay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 13, 1993, at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter with Rev. Joachim Thanh officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Donations may be made in his memory to the Ronald McDonald House; Our House of Maine, 254 State Street, Bangor ME 04401.
