AMANDA C. CYR DEXTER Amanda Christine Cyr, 21, died unexpectedly October 7, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident in Cambridge. She was born May 18, 1980 in Bangor the daughter of Paul and Cynthia (Smith) Cyr. She was a graduate of Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1999 and was currently enrolled as a student at Pierre's School of Cosmetology in Bangor. She was also a waitress at The Olive Garden in Bangor while attending school. Amanda was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter. She is survived by her mother, Cynthia Cyr of Dexter; her father and step-mother, Paul and Judy Cyr of St. Albans; maternal grandfather, William Smith of Dexter; paternal grandmother, Rose Cyr Campbell of Pittsfield; 2 sisters, Angela Cyr of Weymouth, MA, and Ashley Cyr of Dexter; a step-brother, Fred Beem of Stetson; Uncles Anthony Smith, Sr. of Palm Harbor, FL, William Smith Jr. and wife Phyllis of Quinlan, Texas; Aunts Christine Pooler and husband Carroll, Lea Worster and husband Keith, and Missy Smith, all of Dexter; Frances Kirk and husband Milton of Pittsfield; several cousins. She was predeceased by a step-brother, Shad Beem in 1997. Friends called October 10 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated October 11, at St. Annes Church with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to establish a scholarship fund for a DRHS graduate entering the field of cosmetology, in care of SAD # 46, 10 Spring Street, Dexter, ME 04930.
