Obituary
WILLIAM A. PITCHER DEXTER, CORINNA & TERRYVILLE, CT - William A. Pitcher, 80, died February 15, 1999 at a Waterbury, CT health care facility. He was born on July 14, 1918 at Boston, MA, the son of Charles and Ellen (Fraser) Pitcher. He moved to Corinna when he was 4 years old, and left high school to serve in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the depression. He served in the Pacific theatre in the U. S. Army during World War II. After the war he married Florence Watt. He was employed at Fay-Scott and Dexter Shoe Company, retiring in 1980. He is survived by one son, Allen Pitcher of Cambridge; one daughter Jo-Marie "Josie" Rindfleisch of Terryville, CT; one sister, Beryl Hoyt of Chandler, AZ; five grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Florence, and by a brother, George "Pug" Pitcher. Funeral services were February 17 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, with Rev. David McLeish officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Corinna Village Cemetery.
