JAMES L. EDGECOMB DEXTER - James L. Edgecomb, 53, died unexpectedly September 2, 1998 at a Bangor hospital. He was born September 7, 1944 at Mars Hill the son of James and Gertrude (Burgess) Edgecomb III. He attended Dexter schools and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. James was employed at Maine Central Railroad for 27 years. He was a past commander of Poulliot-Seavey Post #53 American Legion as was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Chabot)Edgecomb of Dexter; of Dexter; two sons, Kevin and his wife, Marielle Edgecomb of Lamoine and Brian Edgecomb and his fiancee, Shelley Farrar of Burnham, a brother, Erwin Edgecomb of Dexter; four sisters, Selinda Simonds of Corinna, Betty Tremblay of Newport, Brenda Watson and Doris Hartford, both of Sangerville; two granddaughter, Rebecca Anne and Hannah Renee Edgecomb; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Mark, a brother, Sonny Edgecomb and two sisters, Mary Chabot and Sarah Lavasseur. He will be remembered by his special friends, Norman and Marsha Wyman, David and Nila Nelson, Stan and Rose Tenney, and by his coffee shop buddies. Graveside funeral services were held September 5 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. The American Legion also conducted a graveside committal service.
