Obituary	LALA McGOWEN DEXTER - Lala J. McGowen, 101, went to be with her Lord, June 14, 2001, at a Dexter health care facility. She was born April 27, 1900 in Bancroft, Daughter of George and Angeline (DeLong) McCormack. She graduated from Houlton High School, class of 1919. She was a member of First Free Baptist Church in Dexter. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank McGowen; and a great-grandson, Jason Ogden. She is survived by, and will be sadly missed by, two sons, James Thornton McGowen of Pitsfield and Clive McGowen and his wife, Lorraine of Troy; two daughters, Vivian Russell, and Joyce and her husband, James Wintle, all of Dexter. 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held June 19, at the First Free Baptist Church in Dexter, with Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland.
