Obituary	JAMES HILL SHARPE DEXTER & CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - James Hill Sharpe, 82, died November 12, 1999 at Meth-Wick Manor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was born October 3, 1917 in Dexter the son of Gordon and Elsie (Hill) Sharpe. He graduated from N. H. Fay High School, and Hatch Preparatory School, which was owned and operated by his uncle, Lloyd Hatch. He graduated from Michigan State University and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. James left Dexter after high school, but always enjoyed returning to his hometown in the summer. He retired as chief deputy assessor for the City of Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Masonic Order. James was predeceased by his wife Caroline (Furrow) Sharpe in 1990. He is survived by a son, Richard and his wife Holly Sharpe of Ames, Iowa; a daughter, Marilyn and her husband Dennis Evans of Renbeck, Iowa; 2 sisters, Bunny Richman of Avon, CT, and Phyllis Sharpe Mills of Guilford; 7 grandchildren. Private burial will be in the Hill-Sharpe family lot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
