Obituary	THERESA M. KORTECAMP DEXTER, Theresa M. (Pickard) Kortecamp, formerly, of Dexter, died Sept. 24, 1999 at a Portland nursing home at the age of 74. She had been a resident of Cedars Nursing Care Facility since suffering a stroke while visiting her son's family. She was born Nov. 8, 1924 in Northbridge, Mass. daughter of Phydime and Florida (Thirrien) Pickard. Theresa was one of 11 children, 9 of whom survived into adulthood. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter. For 25 years she was employed by Dexter Shoe Co. in Dexter. Following her retirement she volunteered at the Dexter Nursing Home, Theresa was an excellent cook who took pleasure in preparing favorite meals for family and guests. She also enjoyed extended visits with her son's family in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Sacrborough. She was married for 31 years to John (Red) Kortecamp, who passed away in 1977. She was a resided on Main Street in Dexter for 38 years before her stroke in 1991. Immediately surviving her are her son and his wife, John Eugene and Karen Kortecamp and their children, Erin Marie Kortecamp and Evan John Kortecamp all of Glenwood, Maryland. Also surviving are three brothers, Oscar, Gerard and Eugene Pickard all of Linwood, Mass.; four sisters, Dorales Trottier, Lucille Roy and Rachel Blair all of Linwood, Mass. and Gertrude Mahoney of San Jose, Cal..She was recently predeceased by a sister Rita Berkowitz. Friends called September 28 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated September 29 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter. Burial will be on the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
