Obituary	JOYCE A. (KATEN) LOONEY DEXTER - Joyce A. (Katen) Looney, 79, died January 9, 1999, in Hendersonville, NC She was born in Foxcroft, April 25, 1919, the daughter of Elmer L. and Josephien A. (Morgridge) Katen. She taught for more than 30 years in the Dexter/Corinna school systems earning a B.S. in education from UMO during this time. She enjoyed inspiring a love of learning in her students. She played clarinet in the Fayscott Marching Band, the Paul Giles Band, and was proud to be chosen as second clarinet in the Bangor Concert Band, and second chair in the Bangor Symphony. Her love of music and learning lead her to be a degree candidate with honors in performance at Blue Ridge Community College at the time of her death. Joyce was predeceased by husbands, Guy Manford Page and Ralph Hill. She is sorely missed by her beloved husband, Thomas B. Looney, with whom she enjoyed traveling, bridge and a genuine zest for life. She is also survived by sons Jere M. Page of North Clemsford Mass., Stephen E. Page and his wife Hope of Dover-Foxcroft; five grandchildren, Rhiannon Rosso of Bangor, Jeremy, Kayleigh, Chelsea and Landon; and many extended family members. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the First Universalist Church of Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Universalist Church of Dexter.
