Obituary	ALIDA M. GROLEAU DEXTER - Alida M. Groleau, 83 died June 28, 1999 at a Dexter healthcare facility after an extended illness. She was born November 18, 1915 at Jackman, the daughter of Phillip and Marie (Nolet) Gilbert. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Catholic Church and worked for many years at Plummer Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Margaret) Higgins of Surry and Mrs. James (Patricia) Downing of Exeter; two sisters, Gernaine Poulin of Dexter and Nathlie Tracy of Augusta; five grandchildren, Kathy Day and Judy Pullen, both of Dexter, James Downing, Jr. of Exeter, Joan Guilford of Ellsworth and Mark Higgins of Penobscot; seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Herbert F. Groleau in 1983. Friends called 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home; 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter, with Rev. George Beaudet officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
