Obituary	MARLYN KAY PEAKES MOJAVE, CA- - Services were held September 7, 1996, at Clausen's Funeral Home for Marlyn Kay Peakes, 60, of Mojave, CA, who passed away Wednesday, September 4 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Peakes and her husband, John, were lifelong summer residents of Dexter. Mrs. Peakes was born August 8, 1936 in Pasadena, CA and was a long time Ojai resident before moving to Mojave. Mrs. Peakes was a homemaker all of her adult life. She has been married to her beloved husband for 38 years. Together they raided three children in the Ojai Valley. In 1986, John and Marlyn moved to Mojave, CA to open an insurance office in Lancaster, CA. Marlyn helped open and worked part time for Peakes Insurance Agency in 1969; 1986 in Lancaster; and again in 1995 in Rocklin, CA. Mrs. Peakes is survived by her husband, John, of Mojave; daughter and son-in-law Melinda and Mitch Vaughn of Ojai, son and daughter-in-law, John Jr. and Laura Peakes of Ojai; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Maria Peakes of Sacramento, CA; sister and brother-in-law, June and Bob Burns of Shingletown, CA; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Alan Fairweather of Pasadena, CA; brother Richard Sandiforth of South El Monte; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Julie Peakes of Dexter, Maine; sister in law Mary Graef, also of Dexter, Maine. Marlyn also has five very special grandchildren that she adored very much: Aaron and Brian Vaughn of Ojai; John III and Chad Peakes; and Katelyn Peakes of Sacramento, CA. There will also be a graveside service at Marlyn's final resting place in St. Albans, Maine.
