Obituary
REGINALD A. REEKS DEXTER - Reginald A. Reeks, 75, died December 29, 1999 at a Bangor hospital. He was born December 10, 1924 at Dexter the son of Alfred and Hazel (Bowley) Reeks. He graduated from N. H. Fay High School and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Reggie was a clerk and meat cutter at Don Brown's Market for 17 years. He operated a sporting goods store for 11 years. He was involved in television sales and service since its inception in Maine, until his retirement in December 1998. In addition to being self employed, Reggie was a television repair technician at the Dexter Western Auto Store For many years. He was also employed at Bud's Shop and Save for a number of years. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Ethel (McFarland) Reeks of Dexter; 1 son, Donald and wife Marie Reeks of Levant; 2 daughters and their husbands, Sheila and Kevin O'Brien of Biloxi, Miss., Regina and Ronald Utter of Madisonville, Tenn.; 1 sister, Helen Burrill of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by a sister-in-law, Grace and husband Spencer Larsen, and brother-in-law, Fred McFarland. He was predeceased by a brother Leonard. At his request, there will be no services at this time. A graveside committal service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, in the spring. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sunshine Club c/o Mrs. Nancy Baldwin, Treasurer, 59 Acadia Street, Dexter 04930.
