ALBERT "TOM" MACE HERMON & DEXTER – Albert "Tom" Mace, 84 died unexpectedly July 9, 1998 at his Hermon residence. He was born February 11, 1914 in Bangor, the son of Carroll and Margaret (Martin) Mace. He had served in the U.S. Navy and had owned and operated Mace's Auto Sales in Newport and Toby's General Store in Hampden. He was a lifelong musician and enjoyed life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Goulette) Mace of Hermon, with whom he recently celebrated 64 years of marriage; five grandchildren, Monique Mace-Hashey and her husband Phillip Hashey Jr. of Hermon, Angelique Luro and her husband Brian of Mass., Sarah Mace of Ogunquit, Nicole Mace of Mass. and Martin Mace Jr. of New York; three great-grandchildren, Brooke Luro, Alec Luro and Nicolette Hashey. He was predeceased by his sons, Martin and Talbot. Friends called at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter where funeral services were held with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Burial was at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
