Obituary	IRENE W. ALIEFF CORINNA - Irene W. Alieff, 87, wife of the late John Alieff, died unexpectedly February 1, 1998 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born April 2, 1910 in Corinna, the daughter of Milton and Edna (Burgess) Wingate. She was a graduate of Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1928 and was a member of the Corinna Christian Church. She had been employed as a telephone operator for West Penobscot Telephone for 45 years, retiring in 1975. She worked with young people in the Awana Club for 14 years and was very active in the hospital chaplaincy. She is survived by two sisters, Clarabelle Gudroe and Ruth Hughes, both of Dexter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held February 5, 1998 at the Corinna Christian Church with Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Arrangements by Thompson Funeral Home, Corinna.
