Obituary	GRACE E. FOSS DEXTER and PARKMAN – Grace E. (Chesley) Foss, 91, died September 26, 1997 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born September 13, 1906 at Woodville, the daughter of Frank and Susan (Stevens) Chesley. Grace and her husband Ivan lived in Parkman for 45 years, where they were involved in town and church activities and will be remembered by many friends and neighbors. At the time of her death, Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, the Parkman Grange, the WCTU, and Guilford Rebekahs. She is an honorary member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Guilford. Surviving are 6 children: Mary Lou Redmond of Dover-Foxcroft, Charles Foss of Augusta, Beatrice Patterson of Dexter, Franklin Foss of Monson, Marion Russell of Orono, and Bernice Foss of Cape Elizabeth; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elsie Smart and Ruth Nickerson, both of Passadumkeag; one brother, Elwood Chesley of Madison; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan who died in 1981, and two sons, Philip Chesley, who died in 1955, and Gayland Foss, in 1983. A memorial service was held September 30 at the First Baptist Church of Dexter. A graveside committal service was held September 30 at Pingree Center Cemetery in Parkman.
