Obituary	JAMES G. GILLESPIE DEXTER - James G. Gillespie, 69, died unexpectedly May 11, 1997 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born August 13, 1927 at Moscow, Maine the son of Harold and Bertha (Fitzsimmons) Gillespie. He served in the U.S. Army immediately following World War II, and was a self-employed plumber in the Dexter area for many years. He was a life member of Poulliot-Seavey Post 53 American Legion. He was a charter member of the Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis, a member of the Penobscot Lodge #39 AF & AM, the Anah Temple Shrine, Plymouth Lodge #65 IOOF, DeMolay Commandery, and Wassookeag Chapter #44 OES. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maxine (Leavitt) Gillespie of Dexter; two sons, Wayne Gillespie of Universal City, CA, and Walter Gillespie of Standish; one daughter Teresa Gillespie of Dexter; two sisters, Kathleen Macay of Holliston, MA, and Lucille LaRochelle of Bingham; as well as three grandchildren, Christopher, Derek and Shannon. A Masonic service and funeral services were held May 15 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main Street, Dexter, with Maurice Neal officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
