Obituary	EFFIE N. McKUSICK DEXTER - Effie N. McKusick, 95, died March 6, 1996, at a Athens boarding home. She was born february 23, 1901 at Dexter, the daughter of Willis and Jennie (Crowell) Nichols. She was a graduate of N.H. Fay High School, Class of l920.Effie was a lifelong resident of Dexter and was the widow of Ralph D. McKusick, who died in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Sunshine Club, Wassookeag Chapter Order of The Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the Dexter Grange and an honorary member of the Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge. She worked with her husband Ralph in the McKusick Insurance Agency for 20 years. She also enjoyed working with young people as a 4-H Leader in her earlier days. She loved gardening and had many beautiful flowers. She is survived by two sons, Rodney and his wife Roberta of Mesa, AZ, and R. Dean and his wife Belle of Dexter and Jensen Beach, FL; one daughter, Jennie Rebecca and her husband Ernest Sevey of Ripley; 10 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren; 1 great, great-granddaughter and two step-grandchildren. A son Gordon died in 1966. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 1996 at the First Baptist Church of Dexter with Rev. John Ross officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 7 Free Street, Dexter ME 04930; or Tissues Country Estate Patient Activity Fund, RR 1 Box 5093, Athens ME 04912.
