Obituary	DANA KNOWLES DEXTER - Dana F. Knowles, 71, died December 12, 1993, at his home in Dexter. He was born December 30, 1921, in Willimantic, son of Bert and Evelina Knowles. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received a purple heart. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from Northeastern University and then worked for ten years as a public accountant in Springfield, MA. in the early 1960's after moving back to Maine, Dana worked as a bookkeeper for the Amos Abbott Woolen Mill and later opened his own Accounting Firm in Dexter. He is survived by his wife Gloria (Mudge) Knowles of Dexter; two sons Timothy Knowles of Titusville, FL, and Chris Knowles of Corinna; a daughter Diana Bourgoyne of Maryland; a brother Kenneth Knowles of Milo and two sisters Kathryn Green of Monson and Madeline Herring of Millinocket; one grandson, six step grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home at 238 Main St., Dexter, on December 15. Private services will be held at a later time.
