Obituary	MARIE A SMITH DEXTER - Marie Anita (Clukey) Smith, 65, died unexpectedly July 29, 1993 at her Fairway Knolls residence. She was born March 22, 1928 at Dexter, the daughter of Arthur and Nelli(Capron) Clukey. She attended Dexter schools and was a communicant of St. Anne's Parish. She was employed by Dexter Shoe Company, retiring in 1990. She will be remembered as an avid beano player. She is survived by her husband, William E. Smith, Sr. of Dexter; 2 sons, William Jr. of Lakewood, Calif. and Anthony of Torrington, CT; 3 daughters, Christine Pooler and Cynthia Cyr, both of Dexter, and Michele Smith of Winsted, CT; 2 brothers, Richard Clukey of Thomaston, CT and Arthur Clukey of Bucksport; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Nancy (Smith) Burton, a brother Lawrence Clukey, and a sister Mary Stata Maskaitis. Friends called August 1 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main Street, Dexter, where prayer services were held. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated August 2 at St. Anne's Church, Dexter with Rev. Antonio Amato officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
