Obituary	DR. NORA B. FANJOY DEXTER - Nora (Blethen) Fanjoy, 90, wife of the late W. Ray Fanjoy, died October 14, 1989, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital, after a brief illness. She was born May 5, 1899, at Atkinson, the daughter of Dexter and Bertha (Harvey) Blethen. She graduated from Foxcroft Academy, Class of 1918, and graduated from a Bangor hairdressing school in 1924. She studied at the Massachusetts School of Chiropody and passed her state examinations in 1933. After marrying Ray Fanjoy, she owned and operated a beauty shop in Dexter, trained 11 beauticians, and operated her chiropody practice for 17 years before selling her beauty shop in order to concentrate on chiropody. At the time of her death, she was still actively involved in her practice. She was a member of the first Baptist Church of Dexter; a 59-year member of the Wassookeag Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary for more than 60 years. She is survived by her son, Harry W. of Dexter; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Reginald Call; and a grandson, William K. Fanjoy. There were no visiting hours. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, at the First Baptist Church in Dexter, with the Rev. Judson Stone officiating. Private committal services will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church Music Committee.
