Obituary
THELMA E. COOK DEXTER - Thelma Eliza Cook, 88, went to be with her Lord on November 2, 1992. She was the beloved daughter of Ernest H. and Eliza M. (Fox) Cook. Her special love for children inspired her to spend her life teaching in Brighton, Patten, Cornville, Bingham, Athens and Hartland, retiring in 1964. She was a member of the Maine Retired Teacher's Association, the Athens Historical Society, Athens Grange and the Dexter United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her brother, Victor, in 1989. She will be missed as a special aunt to four nieces, Virginia (Cook) McKenny, Margaret (Cook) LaFlamme, Eleanor (Cook) Hart and Ruth (Cook) MacDougall; three nephews, Norman F. Cook, Richard E. Cook and Paul A. Cook. She is also survived by four cousins, Janet Robinson, Robert Doe, George Doe and Mildred Cook. Her love will also live on in the memories of many grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Funeral services were held November 5 at the Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Krisann Byrne-Scheri officiating. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Athens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Dexter United Methodist Church, Building Fund, care of Mr. Robert Fortier, RFD 2 Box 800, Dexter 04930.
