Obituary	DORIS M. COOKSON DEXTER - Doris M. Cookson, 89, died January 24, 1993, at a Dexter nursing home. She was born August 31, 1903, at Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Reed) McKenney. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1923, and Farmington State Normal School. She married Alphonzo Cookson in 1926, and he predeceased her in 1980. She taught school in the towns of Detroit, Corinna, Ripley, Garland and Burnham, retiring in 1968. She was an active member of the Dexter United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Sonya and Roland Arno of Sidney and Charlotte and James Pearson of East Holden; one brother, Horace McKenney of Dexter; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters, Althea and Joyce. Friends called January 26 at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main Street, Dexter. Funeral services were held January 27 with the Rev. Krisann Byrne-Scheri, pastor of the Dexter United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Donations may be made in her memory to the Dexter United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
