Obituary	SOPHIE MEIER DEXTER - Sophie Meier, 85, died July 21, 1992, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, of pneumonia. She was born in Bayside, NY, grew up in Freehold, NJ, and lived most of her adult life in Brooklyn, NY. During her retirement years, she lived in Tucson, Arizona, during the winters, until a stroke in 1986 necessitated a move to the Dexter Nursing Home to be near one of her daughters. She received her degree in nursing from Long Island College of Nursing and worked for many years in the newborn nursery of Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. She was the devoted wife of Lester J. Meier, who resided at Fairway Knolls in Dexter until his death July 16, 1989. She is survived by two daughters, Ceceile Baker of Mastic Beach, NY and Marilyne Schottenfeld of Dexter, and three grandsons, Robbie Langton, Aaron Schottenfeld and Noah Schottenfeld. There were no formal services. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
