Obituary	Mrs. Ida Macomber Whittemore died September 13th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Whittier in Washington, D. C., after several weeks illness following a fractured hip. She was born in 1956 [1856?]at Ripley and retained her summer home here in Dexter, until the death of her husband, the Rev. E. C. Whittemore. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter. Mrs. Whittemore always very ably assisted her husband in his several Baptist pastorates which he held throughout the state. She is survived, besides her daughter by a grandson, Whittemore Whittier of Boston, one sister, Mrs. Evie Parcher of Waterville several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 15, at 3:00 o'clock in the First Baptist church at Waterville. Interment was in the Storer cemetery at Dexter. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Whittier accompanied the remains to Dexter.
