Obituary	DOROTHY SEVEY YOUNG DEXTER - Dorothy Helen Sevey Young, 90, died October 2, 1991, at a Lewiston nursing home. She was born January 21, 1901, in Corinna and lived most of her life in Dexter. She graduated from Farmington Normal School, Class of 1922, and later from the University of Maine, Orono, Class of 1961. She taught school for more than 30 years in many area schools including the Greenville, Parkman and Dexter schools. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, Dexter. She was active in several of the Dexter area service clubs including the Sunshine Club, Dexter Grange, Wassookeag Chapter OES, the Golden Age Club, DAR, 4-H, the Dexter Extension, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and the local, state and national teachers associations. She is survived by one son, Blaine A. Young of Casper, Wy.; one daughter, Ila Y. Green of Poland; one brother, Albert L. Sevey of Ripley; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney A. Young in 1984; one son, Dale; four brothers, John, Roy, Charles and Elmer Sevey; and one sister, Myra (Sevey) Jackson. Visiting hours were held at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main Street, Dexter. Interment was held at Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley, with Rev. John Dunn Jr. officiating.
