Obituary	CARL CRAWFORD DEXTER - Carl Crawford 79, of Dexter, died Monday July 15, at Mayo Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of Charles and Gertrude Crawford of Dexter. He was born April 3, 1912 in Dexter. He worked all his life in the textile industry, retiring in 1979 after 23 years as superintendent of Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and musician. He was a past member of Fayscott band and up to his death he played in the Dover Community band and Brewer Hometown band. He is survived by his wife, Rose, of 50 years; two sons, Richard Hartley of West Springfield, Massachusetts; James Crawford of Glenburn, Maine; one daughter Gloria Stuart of Topsham, Maine; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A son Leverett Hartley died in 1987. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Carl Crawford Music Scholarship Fund c/o Dexter Regional Federal Credit Union, Dexter, Maine. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
