Obituary	JOHN A. PHINNEY John A. Phinney, 72, died June 16 at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield. He was born in Dexter, November 11, 1918, son of Marshall and Grace (James) Phinney. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1937. He was employed for 40 years as foreman at Fayscott Corp. in Dexter until his retirement in 1980 due to ill health. He is survived by two sons, Ronald J. Phinney of Phoenix, AZ, and Wayne Phinney of Dover-Foxcroft; one daughter, Mrs. David (Marcia) White of Garland; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several cousins. He will be missed by long-time friend Annette Pratt and by his former wife Marion Phinney. Calling hours will be omitted at his request. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Arrangements by Neal Funeral Home in Guilford.
