Obituary
E. EDWARD CARTER DEXTER - Ed Carter, 67, went to be with the Lord, January 31, 1992, at his home in Dexter. He was born November 28, 1924, in Roxbury, MA, son of Ernest and Angela (McGuiness) Carter. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was the owner and operator of the Esso Station in Dexter for many years and for the last eight years taught the truck driving course at Dexter Regional High School. He was a member of the First Free Baptist Church of Dexter, the Penobscot Masonic Lodge No. 39 for 32 years, and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Alta (Crouse) Carter of Dexter; five daughters, Jeanne Wright of South Windham, Carol Wallace of Dexter, Susan Bowden of Belfast, Mary Kennedy and Karen Sleight, both of Dexter; eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 4 at the First Free Baptist Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Harold Wheeler and Pastor Temple officiating. Spring burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
