MARGARET A. POOLER DEXTER - Margaret Avery Pooler, 82, died January 30, 1992, at her Charleston Road residence after a long illness. She was born June 29, 1909, at old Town, the daughter of Fred and Eva (Fisher) Avery. She was a graduate of Old Town High School and moved to Dexter in 1934. She married Cyril A. Pooler in 1935. They owned and operated the Wall Street Market for many years and were the first in the area to sell homemade ice cream. She also managed the Fay & Scott Lodge for many years. She was a 30-year member of the Sunshine Club, and was active in the Penobscot and Piscataquis Extension as a sewing and food leader. She was a member of the South Sangerville Grange, and was a past member of the Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge. She had been active in the Dexter and Old Town Girl Scout troops and had served as a 4-H leader. She enjoyed playing contract bridge and was a member of several related organizations. She is survived by one daughter, Patsey Smith of Dexter and Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters, Florence Tyler of Cambridge and Ruby Towle of Dexter; two grandchildren, Bonnie Smith Montgomery of Clarmore, OK, and Scott Adam Smith of Dexter and Oklahoma City, OK; a son-in-law, Raymond Smith; a grandson-in-law, Slagle Montgomery; great-grand-daughter, Brooklyne Marie Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., May 1 at the family lot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with the Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating.
