Obituary
Rev. Herbert Dana Knowles The funeral services of Rev. Herbert Dana Knowles was held at the Corinna Methodist Church, Tuesday at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Ellis, pastor of the Kennebunk Baptist Church and friend, conducting the service, assisted by Rev. Merle P. Estabrooks, pastor of the Corinna Christian Congregational church. Two solos were sung-"After", by Frederick Marsh of Corinna and "In the Garden" by Mr. Mitchell of Brewer, who had conducted the singing when Mr. Knowles had held evangelist meetings. Mr. Mitchell of Brewer had charge of the funeral arrangements. Miss Joyce Moses was organist and played sacred music in the service. The bearers were Thurlow Knowles, John Philbrick and John Bemis of Corinna and Ray Robinson, a friend of Newport. The buriel was in the Corinna Centre Cemetery. Out of town people in attendance were: a sister, Mrs. Minnie Twombly; a niece Mrs. Helena Rowarr, both of Portland; a cousin, Miss Gertrude Knox of Dexter, John Seavey of Ripley. Mrs. Brann and grandson Albert Ripley of Brewer, formerly of Passadumkeag. Judge and Mrs. Arthur Stone of Dexter. Mr. and Mrs. Hartley and mother, Frankfort and cousins of Dover-Foxcroft.
