Obituary
BASIL W. OSGOOD DEXTER - Basil W. Osgood, 70, died unexpectedly September 17, 1990 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born July 19, 1920, at Corinna, the son of William and Hazel (Greenwood) Osgood. He was a veteran of World War II, and graduated from Husson College and the University of Maine at Orono. He taught school and coached baseball from 1964-67 at Hartland Academy, and then at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport until his retirement. He was a member of Corinna American Legion Post #73, the National Education Association and the Maine Teacher's Association. He is survived by is wife, Antoinette; his sister, Marion Marsh; his step-son and wife, Michael and Barbara Buckley; two granddaughters, Lauren and Meghan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends called on September 19 at Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services were held the following day at the Pleasant Street Christian Church, Corinna, with the Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Interment was at the Village Cemetery, Corinna. Those who wish to may make donations to the Basil W.
