Obituary	ERNEST J. DAIGLE DEXTER - Ernest Joseph Daigle, 66, died July 23, 1990 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital after a two-year battle with cancer. He was born October 13, 1923 at Dexter, the son of Benjamin and Mary Daigle. He attended N.H. Fay High School and N.Y.A. Machinist School. He was employed as a machinist at Fay and Scott, Dexter, for 44 years, retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater, participating in the campaigns of New Guinea, Leyte and Luzon, and was stationed in the Philippines for 18 months. He was a well-known guitarist, and played with several local jazz bands. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion, and was a past member of the Fish and Game Association, the Dexter Municipal Golf Club, and St. Anne's Catholic Church choir. In addition to his mother of Dexter, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Blanche (Violette) Daigle of Dexter; three daughters, Donna and her husband, Mark Anderson of Hollis Center, Rita and her husband, Richard Grindal of Damariscotta, and Linda Daigle of Dexter; two grandchildren, Eric Anderson and Rachel Grindal; two sisters, Madelyn and her husband, Harold Pelletier of East Hartford, Conn., and Gloria and her husband, Ronald Nadeau of Dexter. He was predeceased by his brother, Vincent. Calling hours were held July 24 at Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 25 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Marcel Robitaille officiating. Interment will be in the family lot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Memorial donations maybe made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 456, Brunswick (04011).
