Obituary	WALTER M. COOKSON DEXTER - Walter M. Cookson, 68, died March 8, 1990, at his Water Street residence after a long illness. He was born June 20, 1921 in Milo, the son of Frank and Eva (Hanscom) Cookson. He was employed at Dexter Shoe Co. for more than nine years, retiring in 1976. He also served with the police departments in Bradford, Dover and Dexter for many years. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Hurd) Cookson of Dexter; two sons, Larry and Stephen, both of Dexter; four sisters, Grace Arsenault of Brewer, Kathleen Thompson of Guilford, Ethel Newcomb of Massachusetts and Jennie Joy of Newport; three grandchildren, William and Randi, both of Dexter, and Robin of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Merle Alfred Cookson. Friends called at Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main St., Dexter on March 9. There were no funeral services. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the spring.
